I loved going to the Trail of Courage in Rochester IN every year growing up. I enjoyed the festivities of other reenactments in our area, but the main reason I liked the Trail was there were no actual war reenactments, which meant no guns. (I wasn't so fond of guns at age 9!)
Last year we desperately needed to get out of the house, and I was chatting with someone who mentioned they were headed to the Trail that weekend! So I gathered up Sam, my mom & youngest sister, and my trusty Mamiya film camera, and we headed to the festival!
Of course, they not only had guns, but also a cannon demonstration, but I have grown a little since the age of 9, and while I admit I did end up covering my ears at one point, we had a great time!
Here's a little of what I saw! (For more, visit HERE!)
