As I reflect on this past year, it's quite clear that blogging regular wasn't in the cards for us. I am now trying to catch up on that some- we were present to photograph gorgeous weddings this year, and privileged to have amazing couples for all our wedding clients!
In addition to these wonderful events, we did our share of family and lifestyle photography sessions. After taking a good look at our own lifestyle and commitments, we've decided to use 2014 to focus exclusively on weddings and couples. While it wasn't an easy decision, we need to spend time healing our hearts and focusing on our own life together, and we felt weddings is where we really shine! Weddings allow us to spend time together as a couple, working side-by-side, and as soul mates, this had the most appeal to us.
Next week I will be blogging the most intimate wedding we shot all year, and I thought I'd sneak in a few images from the getting ready process, before I share our January special. Rebekah and John were married on a beautiful, sun filled day in Arlington Texas. Watching Rebekah prepare for her wedding day was both exciting and also bittersweet. Her two youngest sisters, Mary & AnnaLeah (also Sam's sisters) had been killed in a car wreck the previous week on their way from North Carolina to the wedding. Susanna, Rebekah's remaining sister was there by her side, as they prepared to send her down the aisle, to marry the man of her dreams. Rebekah's parents weren't going to be able to make the wedding because her Mom had been hospitalized by the same accident and had only been realized from a hospital in Georgia the day prior and couldn't fly. Rebekah and John had made the very difficult decision to continue on with the wedding, a brave way to start a marriage- in the face of an emotional and heartbreaking crisis, something that felt like it was tearing our family apart- comes a beautiful new family forming.
Because of the limited time we had to prepare to photograph this wedding, all the above images were capture on my old 35mm Pentax camera, with Kodak Tri-X films. Developing and Scanning by The FIND Lab.
And now for our special that we're extending through Jan 2014 (and you will WANT to take advantage, because Feb 1st we are changing our pricing!)
So if you are a past wedding client, or just love our work- Share the heck out of this blog post & be sure to tell anyone you know in need of wedding photographers about us! There's definitely something in it for you, and for them!
